DirextX Error while playing BF4

Hey Guys,

I recently bought an evga 980 ti and it has been working pretty good, but since yesterday I have been getting errors and have been having issues while playing BF4. First my frame rate in bf4 just dropped from a 100 to about 5-6 fps, I tried the game again later and started getting this error   "DirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason failed with dxgi_error_device_hung". I reinstalled Directx and repaired the game and it was working again but then again today when i tried to play it i got the same error again. I have no idea why this is happening, I tested other games such as GTA V and Witcher 3 and got no issues with that and was able to play them just fine, this is only happening with bf4, if anyone know how to fix this please help me!

My specs are:

i5-3570k @3.4

gtx 980ti 6gb

16 gb ram

600 W psu

  • As far as I know, this problem occurs because factory overclocking your video card. Try the following:

    1. Download and Install Nvidia Inspector ( For example here  http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html  )
    2. Run Nvidia Inspector and click on " Show Overclocking" (click "Yes")
    3. In the tab Overclocking you need to change ONLY "Base Clock Offset" and click on (-10 and -10 again), wait for 10 seconds. If the settings are reset., try again click on (-10).
    4. Next, you need will Save your changes click on "Apply Clocks and Voltage" ( Do not close Nvidia Inspector!). After, If you want to set your settings default you need to click on "Apply Defaults" . After, you can close Nvidia Inspector.
