EA APP - Invite friends to game ?

Can anyone help us out here with a PC game issue please. 


Since we all moved to the EA App from Origin in the last week, none of us can open Battlefield 1 and join friends any more.  What happened to the old SHIFT F1 option to invite a friend to your game. 
The only way we can get this to work is everyone shuts BF1, then starts it at the same time and then we MIGHT see one of us in a game on the main home screen to join that person. 

Even creating a party doesnt seem to allow us to follow a player in to a game. 

I tried logging a support ticket, but the contact us option only allows me to use 6 default questions.

    @BOREDUS Hey it happens pretty often, already have had this problem on Origin, by the way, did you guys switch for EA App without reinstall the game on it ?

    No, we didn't reinstall the game. 

    We opened BF1 and were prompted to install EA APP as it replaced Origin? 

    Even with Origin we could use SHIFT + F1 to get to player and invite to game.  Now that function doesn't exist. 

    No option under EA App to invite player to game. Literally all we can do is make a party in game, but that means the person already in-game has to exit the round. Then invite to Party,  then go back in to a server again. 

    I really don't want to remove and reinstall this game, its basically most of a day waiting for this huge * game to download again.
