EA LINK

I've recently re-installed battlefield 2142 with CD and I need as link for update. I can't find ea link anywhere. I have origin, but it won't give me an update. How do I get the update without re-purchasing it through origin?

So punk buster and EA Link are somehow the same thing?? WHATEVER.... Thanks anyway. I guess the bots will be my friends...I was trying to get help and the EA site spit the following out:PUNKBUSTER TECHNICAL ISSUES

Can I play without it?
You are not required to use PunkBuster. However, you will not be able to join any server that runs PunkBuster Services. There are servers that do not use PunkBuster services, but lack of anti-cheat software can definitely degrade your gaming experience.

How do I install PunkBuster?
Even Balance, Inc. are the developers of the anti-cheat software, PunkBuster. Working with game developers, they have created a tool to help identify cheaters in-game and remove them. Any server that runs PunkBuster enforces PunkBuster bans because no one wants to play with a cheater.

So now I've dowloaded this ORIGIN thing.. I HAVE TO ASSUME that it has something to do with EA LINK... Now upon game initiation is says to click ok to launch EA LINK and download an available update... Nothing happens so I start ORIGIN, remember I dont know if this is the right thing, and I cant find a friggin thing that says update. Step 1 Failure Step 2 Failaure Step 3 Etc Etc Etc.....
