Probably worth giving it another go. If you carefully go through all the options in the app, and even your account page, there are quite a few background tasks that can be paused or turned off.
For example, block updates to anything during game play. There are more too. Run with absolute minimum amount of background tasks can help.
However, re: Anti-Cheat, I can't say anything specific about that, sorry. But it shouldn't use that crazy amount of resources. If it was normal no one would play that game.
It's possible it was a bad install, or some mystery bug/conflict with something else unrelated on your PC? I don't know but anti-cheat systems can be a real nuisance. It could even be something like your security software constantly scanning/checking it when it activates, or does a particular type of on line check? Might need to add an exclusion.
Also close browser or desktop email progs, run "dxdiag." Try scanning windows image, then files with: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (copy and paste that into cmd prompt or power shell. That one should come up clean. Then check all system files. Same cmd prompt or power shell, type: sfc/scannow (again copy and past that. All should be done as administrator mode.)
Those are just a few general checks. There are too many to mention. Thing is losing access to the game you paid for is really bad. Hence worth trying again and doing a bit of trouble shooting.
The issue you explained is really bad, which ironically may make trouble shooting easier. Regardless, don't give up just yet! Good luck!!
EDIT: It is very unlikely that you are the first to experience this major issue. Hopefully someone who has the same game and expierenced then solved the same issue will see this thread and give an actually solution.
- 19 days ago@GawgPorkChop hey, i had this issue for the past month, some people even longer. they supposedly patched it last week, and now it works better for me, though still with some issues. looks like in the patching process they messed up how other systems works. check out this thread:

Hey, Pixelated, thanks for the info and link!!
EDIT: Long thread. Here is the official copy an paste from EA Rep. @AntiCheatWard
Hey all, thanks for your patience as we investigated this issue.
The anti-cheat team has pushed out a new build to address stuttering on certain CPUs, if you've updated to anti-cheat version 1.0.7699515 or higher, you should have the fix.
Thanks!
Later posts suggest it works, but some folks still having issues. Anyway, it's good news. Thanks.
- 16 days ago@GawgPorkChop No problem 🙂 Try manually updating in through the anti cheat installers in the battlefield game folder if you're still having problems 🙂 I think it should do it automatically, but just in case im throwing it out there
