Solved

Error Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out.

Constantly disconnecting from servers since the update/patch back around July.

Error
Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out.

Does ANYONE know a fix for this? I get maybe 10 - 15 minutes into a round when suddenly everyone and thing stops moving and the sound just starts looping until I crash back to battlelog.
  • Run the game as Administrator:
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.

    Run Origin as Administrator:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and check the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

    Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
    Origin, settings, General

If all this fails to fix it then try this...

BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop or trash.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
    3-Repair BF4
4- When done go test your game.

Exact same probem. Strangely there is one server that I can have several games on without a disconnect. Every other server usually lasts a maximum of 5 minutes.

I've portforwarded and tried the above suggestions, nothing so far has worked.

Im in the same boat, a boat drifting since bf3... wow, am I dedicated like the rest of these guys or just foolish?....  ITS ABOUT TIME YOU EA DUDES FIGURE THIS OUT.   Disconnected server timed out blah blah blah PLEASE hurry up and figure out what the damn issue is. Some of us have barely any time to get in and play without the problem, its almost not worth playing., The fact its common enough, I wouldnt recommend this game to others.

  • Do you have a wifi connection between your pc and router? Then try a wired connection. The spreads of the transmission rate cause this problem, although the minimum rate itself is adequate.

    Same issue

Tried all the suggested fixes listed here and on other threads, I even re-installed WIN8.1! About to loose my mind.

I'm wondering if this will continue into BFH? Didn't get chance to play the beta

  • me too.. now my pc shuts down and restart, sometimes, even if i don't touch battlefield. maybe it's because of skype. skype also caps the connection between my monitor and pc. f*ck all this :D

It must be an issue on origin's side. Ran a ping to origin.com and any other site at the same time. On BF4 timesout every time origin doesn't give a ping back...other sites unaffected.

  • JUST got the game last night, decided to try online today, and the BS is happening. if i knew this was the case i never would have bought this game ffs.

ive done EVERYTHING to try and fix this issue....NOTHING works. at least not long enough to call it a fix anyway.

I've had this problem for several months now, I've tried to do the solution, did nothing to help. This is the only game that I get disconnected from the game, its a of load of BS that EA or DICE hasn't fixed this.

I only suffer from this issue when using wi-fi. I'm unaffected when connected to my router via an ethernet cable. The problem is the only port in my house is in an impractical place for my PC. Any other fixes would be most welcome.
