Solved

Error "Origin could not start up (-5ffe0000): The Origin desktop application is not loaded."

I have tried everything, I have tried reparing Battlefield 4. Reinstalling it. Reinstalling Origin. The plugins. I have tried everything. I am unable to play and I  have become quite upset. Nothing has worked! This is just ridiculous, two days trying to fix the issue and still nothing will solve the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, all i want to do is play some Battlefield and I can't 😕mileysad:

So this is an Origin issue and somewhat Battlefield 4 related. I requested telephone assistance from EA, we went through a lot of trouble shooting steps. We did manual uninstalls of both Origin and BF4. Plus I uninstalled Bit Defender Internet Security 2013. That seemed to be the problem, my virus protection was also conflicting with my LAN drivers. As soon as I uninstalled the virus protection my drivers became corrupted and I had to reinstall them aswell. I was lucky I still had the disc on me that had my MOBO drivers. Make sure to backup any drivers when you do this process. Thank you EA for all the help!

We got several reports that players using Avast Antivirus having this issue. If you use Avast, please disable or de-install it to check if the software is blocking your Origin. Please try to close Origin with your taskmanager and make sure that no Origin process is still running in the background. Just restart Origin and try again.

    Cheers

I had this problem.  Tried everything they suggested.  Still didn't work.  Re-installed, turned off my anti virus program (Mcafee)  , port forward through windows, bypassed my router.  nothing.  Then I found the problem...I used to have avast anti virus program.  I uninstalled it a long time ago but it seems it was still causing problems.  Use the avast removal tool which you can find on their site or do what I did and find the folder and delete the remanants of the program.  BF4works now . • There is a file called OriginClientService.exe . Running it manually worked for me.
