Did this it fixxed the issuse for me.

The possible reason why is because of your User settings i had the same error but i had to correct my user settings to full admin rather then just a simple admin so that i can install pretty much anything without any .exe moaning at me. then when i had fixed it i went ahead to do the whole redist file and since then its worked. but take a look into your user account settings first 🙂 i use team viewer 8 if you want help 🙂

I have the exact same problem as the topic creator.  When I navigate to ProgramFiles (x86)\Origin Games, there are no subfolders.  I find this weird because I do have other games installed and I've tried to install BF4 but to no avail.  Any ideas?

Hi, I'm having this annoying problem and I tried solving the problem with the instructions that you gave. 

problem is they don't work for me as I followed these instructions I went into program files/origin games/bf4/installer/vc/vc2012update3/redist

and tried to install both the (x64)  and the (x86) versions but both stop at about 1/3 of the loading bar and this message pops up:

one or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the issues and then retry setup. for more information see the log file

0x80070641- the windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance

what should I do?

I even picked up Bf4 at my local game store and what do you know I'm still having the same **bleep**ing problem, someone pointed out to me that it could fix the problem but NO after finishing Installing the same old message pops up.............. Well now I think I deserve a refund if nobody can help me with this.

This is just plain weird.

I followed your instructions, but on running the x64 version of VCredist.exe an error was displayed that I was informed necessitated the restart of my PC.

The PC restarted and I opened up the Origin program. BF4 was listed, but it said I had to download over 24GB (presumably the game?). So what was on the three DVDs in the box?

The C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games folder is now completely empty.

Why should I need to download when I have the disks?

So I decided to attempt another install from the disks after closing down the Origin program.

All went well with the default settings and I am about to launch the game!

Here that happened too. Had to uninstall and reintall vcredist_64.exe. Didn't need to reinstall x86 cause it was already done by x64 setup. But sure its a shame that after all that time this problem and the directx problem installation wasn't solved by Origin/EA.
