Happened to me twice in a row. (Stroke of luck) Changed knife after the first time from C100 to bayonet and I still can't pick it up. Am I missing something? I have all the other previous phantom assigments done.
Edit: "Solution". I reset everything. BF4 game data deleted and reinstalled along wirh downloading DLC again. Finally worked. Able to pick one up after giving every one I found away.

Some people reported that their boxes were empty when they smashed them, but it was still listed as "unconfirmed" in Reddit thread about it (regarding it being intentional or not). If it's an intentional move, then it sucks big time. It seems that you hit an incredible stroke of bad luck... can't really explain it better. Too many things are still unconfirmed about Phantom.

I know what you mean. It's happened 7 times to me. Each time I see the tags lying there but get no prompt to ineract.
- Just happened again. 3rd time I've changed to different knife. I don't know why. Was with a friend and I let him pick it up after I opened box because I couldn't.

- Is your solution going to get rid of profile data like weapons and rank?
Well, I can't recall any fix that would remove rank/weapon progress data (and reinstalling the game or DLC SURELY will not affect it), so everthing should be fine.
- It will only delete your single player saved game file I think.(I've completed it so I don't need it anyway). All multilayer data is online. You don't loose ranks/weapon unlocks etc. It's only a little bit annoying though because you have to redo your loadouts and in game settings.
