Try to boost the amount of CPUs used by BF4,
1) Open My Documents
2) Press Battlefield 4
3) Select setting then open 'PROFSAVE_profile' in notepad.
4) Find the line that says 'GstRender.TextureQuality X' (Note the X is a number but is different per PC)
5) Press enter then add 'GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount (this should be number of processors -1) '
6) Save this and try BF4

this didn't help me out either ;(
Before i reinstalled my windows Bf4 was playing fine đ
Edit .... is the over clock on your CPU new or was this always in place when BF4 was still good?
CPU 3770K Overclocked to 4,1Ghz
Good windows is not the issue next thing I want you to try is...
Run the game as Administrator:
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x64)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.
Run Origin as Administrator:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and check the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.
Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game
Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
Origin, settings, General
Make Sure BF4 is set to 64bit if your windows is 64bit
1- open origin and go to My Games
2-Right click BF4 and go to Game Properties
3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply REBOOT your PC and then test your BF4
Make sure all this is up to date...
Latest version of DirectX see this page

Reinstall Microsoft C++
NOTE>>> you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". Under system type is should say "32-Bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System". If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.

Go to Punk Buster site
http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
1- Download PB then extract files to your desktop.
2- Open Punk Buster folder.
3- Click on the PB setup and it will open.
4-Add your BF4 game to punk buster its at the top of Punk Buster.
5-Then update punk buster again at the top of Punk Buster.
Reboot PC test BF4
In game video settings right side set to custom and set everything to medium or low but last three turn them off ....
1-antialiasing deferred off
2-antialiasing post off
3-ambient occlusion off
on left side be sure vertical sync is off
If you still crash / have issues see information below....
Try a clean boot : run a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
This should ensure that no programs are interfering in the background.
Below are programs known to make issues in BF4
Disable Mantle if you have it and try Direct X, Turn OFF Anti-Aliasing Deferred in video card settings in game. If you have page file turned off then turn it back on as this can make errors even with 32gigs ram.
Others have said if they uninstall MSI Afterburner issues / crashing is stopped. So if you have this installed remove program and test BF4. Also look at other programs as Asus Game First Service, Razer synapse, Razer Cortex, Qualcomm Killer Service , Fraps, EVGA Precision, Geforce experience, be sure to turn off the streaming function that is enabled by default ,Raptr, RivaTuner , ASRock eXtreme Tuner, Steam, Skype, aero ,Overwolf extra program in teamspeak and xfire are known to make issues as well. And I am sure more programs not in my list yet turn one off at a time and test BF4.
Uninstall the HD Audio Driver from the video card driver install add/remove programs. This silly thing makes issues in BF4 for some. Reboot then repair BF4 to be safe.
If all this fails to fix it then try this...
C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield 4
BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.
1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Repair BF4
4- When done go test your game. If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BF4.
Good evening,
same problem here - fps drops since the last big update /dlc from constant 50-60 to arround 5.
It seems that battlefield have problems to interact with the video card.
The GPU falls down to arround 10% performance at the moment during the fps drops.
Reinstall the game doenst help me out.
Anyone have any ideas?

i am having this same problem to since i can go from 120fps down to 3fps after playing for about 10 to 15 minutes. and i have tried a lot of things so far. and so far nothing that has been posted here didnt help either. guess 1st off is my dxdiag file
http://hastebin.com/jikesuxali.tex
also i have been fighting the fps drop and this dx error
i have a clan member that went threw this same problem before and he said he tried everything here and a few other places trying to get rid of this same huge fps drop.and what did fix it for him was that he went from win7 ult 64bit to win8 ult 64bit and now he has no problems.
i am running win7 ult 64bit but i dont have the extra cash to do that. so far the only thing i had add to my system is a 2nd gpu which is a evga gtx660 i all ready have a gigabyte gtx 660. i have tried setting the boost core clock speed from 1150mhz to 1kmhz which didnt help. i have tried turning vsync to adaptive or off so far that didnt help. even disabled sli, again didnt help. i am about to swap sli bridge to see maybe it is a bad one. but BF4 is the only game i am having this problem with.
since the other games i play are fallen earth, defiance, guild wars 2, skyrim they dont have this problem at all and i can play for hours unlike bf4 this fps drop happens after 10 to 15 minutes of game time.
my full system specs:
Intel Core I5 -3570k @OC to 4.3ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
Kingston HyperX Red 16gb DDR3-1600mhz 10.10.10
Gigabyte GTX 660 / EVGA GTX660 core@1150mhz/mem@1500mhz
Corsair 850TX 850watt
ASUS Xonar DX
WIN7 Ult 64bit-Mushkin SSD 60gb Black WD6401AALS 2x640GB
would be nice if there is a fix which doesnt include changing OS to win8 .....
well i believe it is a EA/BF/Dice problem cause i have tried everything i have read about what other have tried sept for getting win8. since EA and the rest didnt think player would still be using win7 so they didnt have the game work with nothing but win8. now i wish i would have herd about this before buying the digital deluxe version plus the season pass for the dlc..
My PC Specs:
CPU i7 4770k
GPU GTX 760 2GB
RAM 16GB
My problem:
Start PC -> Play BF4 -> FPS: 120!
And
Somtimes BF4 and BF3 just have around 30 FPS (trying to change ULTRA to LOW but FPS still around 30) -> Only solutions is REstart PC and BF 4 back to 120 FPS.
PS: When problem happened, I try to play another game like Blade and Soul and FPS still 120 with MAX Video Setting. Go back to BF4, BF3 -> FPS just 30.
Is this problems with game right?
My CPU was already overclocked before this problem came.
I hoped this would fix my problem but i didn't. I'm wondering if it's a dice/EA problem because i don't have this problem in (Dying light and other games on ultra/high.
Is there anything else i can try?
(I tried it with a new GPU and CPU also this didn't help me out âšī¸
Did you already try all the video card settings I posted? And did you try the Clean Boot I posted as it will rule out a program doing this ? As well as did you do all the settings I posted in my fist topic on this page/page 2 ? Sorry just asking to double check and rule them out fully.:womanhappy:
So just for testing but fully your call as it is your PC. I would remove the over clocking just to test to see if it makes any difference in BF4 .When it comes to stuff like this what was never a issue can become a issue out of the blue. And due to this I have learned over time to test everything just to fully rule it out. So forgive me if this seems like a silly idea :womantongue:
I have 2 AMD Video card: CLUB 3D 7850 royalace 2GB in Crossfire
I don't know where i have to change it there.
The clean boot didn't help too
Battlefiled 4 is the only game where i have this problem.
I already tried if one card will help this didn't help either
I would do some testing in your CCC settings under the gaming setting.
*Sorry for the late response*
But how do you mean under ccc settings?
Hi it's ok and sorry I was not clear Catalyst Control center on desktop. In CCC go to gaming tab , 3D Application settings ... play about in settings to see if you can fix it at all. Also be sure AMD crossfire is on .. just check it all and test BF4
Sadly I am not great with settings with AMD cards at all only Nvidia I know well.
Okey so after a long time...
I think i solved the problem (atleast AMD)
I updated my drivers for my video card and I turned antialiasing, ambient occlusion Of and now i can play the game without random Frame drops
So guys thanks
for helping me out!
