Solved

Gadget 1 Keybind

When trying to rebind the "Toggle Gadget 1" keybind, the new bind will not take effect, regardless of what key is entered (I've tried a slew of keys; none have worked). Even though it shows the new bind as entered, it will not function and instead the default (#3 on the keyboard) keybind still persists. Clearing the keybind (via holding Escape) and attempting another rebind does not work, either.

I am on the PC version, if it wasn't clear in the original post (Win7x64 OS if it matters).

Please fix this issue.

    Hi everyone,

For those who are experiencing this problem with me, I have found a solution, thanks to a person in this post. In order to have this work, you also have to bind "Toggle Underslung Weapon" to the same keybind as your "Select Gadget 1" or "Toggle Gadget 1" keybind.

After trying it out, I also found that you can simply bind the "Toggle Underslug Weapon" to whatever key you want and forego the bidning of Gadget 1 for the same result (i.e., binding Gadget 1 doesn't matter at all; what really matters is the Underslung bind... go figure?).

    Hope that helps.

  • Yeah having the same issue. Also some hardcoded keybinds are interfering with my normal setup.

I have to use the arrow keys for movement and the surrounding keys due to a problem with my ring finger being crooked. This leaves room for it to hang out of the way and not interfere.

Anyhow, I tend to bind things to delete, insert, enter and backspace quite often, and none of these are usable, though they were in BF3.

This is causing some issues finding a workable keybinding scheme for this game as of yet.

THanks for that work-around. Unfortunately , there remain a few other issues with the keybindings system not allowing certain keys, and with other keys being assignable but still retaining other hard-coded functionality.

  • The hardcoded functionality problem is infuriating me trying to setup my jet/heli controls

Does this work for mapping the Defibrilator as well? I have the Defib mapped to number 8 which is my gagdet 1 key and I cannot select it using the bind.
