Game runs on integrated GPU instead of Dedicated one

I am running the game on an MSI laptop but Battlefield will never take my Dedicated Nvidia card (GTX 960M) but instead take the Integrated intel card (HD Graphics 530).

I already tried the following:

  • Set Battlefield 1 to run with Nvidia card in Nvidia experience
  • Set Nvidia card as default video card at all times
  • Right clicked on BF1.exe and set run with Nvidia card

All this didn't do anything. It just switched back to by Intel card the moment it started up.

  • I even disabled the Intel video card and then the game just flat out does not run. 

I looked for hours on the internet and while I found similar problems i never found a solution and I really don't know what to do any more.

Is there a solution for this? (Note the Image with this post is the error I get when trying to run the game with my Intel card disabled)

I included my dxdiag and also note that I installed the latest drivers for both video cards.

    Hi,

    You can try turning the Integrated intel card off in the bios of your laptop.

    I hope this was useful.

    Geforce mobile video is only half-complete.  The front half has been removed, and depends on the Intel chip to handle all pre-processing, and the design is defective, as are the drivers, so anyone scammed into choosing a laptop with such terrible video hardware has to leap through flaming hoops to force the stupid things to actually work!

    Actually, last time I checked, Bethesda's games have the same problems with the Optimus hardware, so that refutes your response.  If you want to use a laptop, and I cannot STAND those keyboards at all, and choose to cripple yourself by accepting a crippled GPU, it will be up to you to ride close herd on the thing constantly to keep it under control.
