Get kills that are not mine and vice/versa

I've seen this problem around for a long time now, but recently it has gotten much worse as it is happening more often.

Some examples I've experienced:

1. I was trading fire with someone and they took cover so I threw an M34. Just as I did they came back around and killed me. My M34 killed them, but it showed that they killed themselves with an M34.

2. I've thrown an M67 and gotten a RGO kill. I don't even think it was my M67 that got the kill. I didn't get any hit markers.

3. I've been killed by an enemy grenade, but it said I killed myself with my ACE23.

4. I've gotten credit for revives I didn't even give. It wasn't the bug where you mouse near them and revive prematurely.

5. I've thrown an M34 far enough I wouldn't take damage, but somehow I take damage as if I threw it at my feet.

6. I've thrown an M34 into a crowd of enemies and didn't get a single hit marker. Though it appeared the enemies did take damage and were easy kills. I bet someone else got my hit markers.

7. I've been hit dead on by M320's and the explosion is right there, but take no damage. I'm sure vice/versa is true also.

  • 1) sounds like something that actually is a consequence of intended mechanics - if you kill someone in motion of throwing a grenade, his grenade becomes 'yours', giving you the kill (or, in that case, suicide). 2 might technically be possible the same way, although you should get both M67 and RGO kill. I can't really explain 3), normally it only happens when you get killed by explosives that you shot with a gun (like Claymores or Slams). I recall seeing 4) at some point, but I don't remember what triggered it. 5) happens if your grenade flies too close to any kind of edge - the fire cloud is displayed in the place where you would expect it, but in reality the grenade bounces off and lands by your feet. 6) is something I haven't seen yet. With current M34 mechanics, I would expect that it landed behind some sort of a small ledge, resulting in no damage (and someone else did it with, for example, M67 or RGO. 7) is almost certainly a latency-related issue. Kind of like dusting on vehicles.

All in all, it sounds like a mix of issues that can't really be fixed on player's end and some possible coincidences, unfortunately. While reporting this on CTE subreddit is an option, I don't really see any way for fix to come soon, especially if there are no surefire ways to reproduce the issues.
