Getting slow frame rate on a fairly new PC

Hey everyone!

I built a fairly new PC about a year ago and have been able to run games at ultra video settings and get great frame rate (50-60FPS), even while video capturing.  But with BF4 i seem to be getting mostly 20FPS no matter how low I set my graphics, and doesn't seem to matter if I'm video capping or not.  My drivers are all up to date... anyone have this problem?  Here's what i'm running:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE|GA-Z77X-UD5H Z77 1155 R

Video Card: GIGABYTE|GV-N680OC-2GD GTX680 R

Ram: 4Gx2|KST KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX RT

CPU: INTEL|CORE I7 3770K 3.5G 8M R

I'm not overclocking anything at the moment.

Thanks for any help anyone has!

What are your settings in-game? Are you using GeForce Experience to set "optimal" settings or anything?

  • I have the same issue except the game just jumps around on me when online and its literally unplayable, im better off just standing in one place and doing nothing, I know its not my internet because i have no problems with battlefield 3 at all. I just hope i can return it and get my money back, because im not gonna go out and spend $ just to play it, and with your specs you shouldnt have even the slightest hiccup

  • Well it was the darndest thing... the first time I ran the game it ran really bad.  I switched it to medium graphics and it still ran pretty sloppy - I restarted the game on a different server and the game ran great!  60fps about, even while video capturing with FRAPs.  So i set it back to ULTRA settings, jumped into the test range and it works just great. 60fps and looks super.  It's really weird... I guess it solved itself?

He shouldnt have to, he is above and beyond what is listed as required to run the game. Im better off waiting for the game to get heavily patched before coming back to it

I havent had any luck, ive tried many servers and online is the issue, It cant be my interenet and changing video settings is the only thing that changes the results. It unplayable and i just hope to get it returned

  • Are you using the latest drivers? I had terrible performance with these drivers on an Nvidia GTX 560 and had to downgrade to 327.23 drivers to get expected performance. Now the game runs smoothly at 1920 resolution.

  • well basically all i did was set the graphics to medium, restart the game and it ran smooth.  Then set the graphics to ultra, restarted the game - and now its at ultra settings AND running 60+fps.... I DUNNO!
