Heavy stuttering/freezing after July 8th Patch

I encounter lag after about 15 minutes into the game. When I first boot up the game is runs like a dream but the lag slowly builds. After 20 minutes, I can freeze for 5-7 seconds. Sometimes the game ...

Also I forgot. I changed the power profile of the pc to "High Performance"

With all the changes I made I don't know which one was the clincher. Unfortunately, I'm too scared to start reversing to see which one it was.
