@TheMegosh are you using an AMD card?
If using Mantle drivers on AMD and crashing in X64 version then:
Go to C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and delete the file "PROFSAVE_profile" (or you could just move it somewhere else on your PC for safekeeping). This will also reset keybindings and graphics settings so you will need to do them again when you launch the game.

Firstly, thanks for the reply. I have tried deleting the file mentioned, without a change in the issue.
Here is a copy of my computer's parts:

Hi @TheMegosh, try the following:
Open your cmd.exe (by typing cmd into the run box) then type ‘netsh winsock reset catalog’ [without the quotes].

Thanks again, but the error persists.
In battlelog when I click "Play Now" on "Test Range", I can see the bottom banner show "Initializing". After I see BF4 open in the task bar, the banner changes to "Logging On/In", then about 1 sec later it shows "You were disconnected from EA Online ⚽" and dissapears from the task bar.
I can make a youtube video of it if needed, but it wouldnt show anything that I haven't described.
