How to download a game or Origin onto a drive other than c:\ on a PC?

My drive c:\ is a flash memory only for programs, and it is nearly full.  So I want to put all games, data, and origin onto my gigantic drive D:\.  But I do not see any way to specify what drive games will install onto.  Same with Origin itself.

You can change the download/install location in Application Settings - Advanced in Origin client.

  • What @EA_Kristi said only changes the location for new games. If you want to move Origin you will have to uninstall it and then install it in the new location.

If you want to move already installed games so you don't have to redownload you will have to:

    1. Take a backup of the games, normally at C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games not from documents
    3. Start your new Origin installation, make sure the install location is correct as EA_Kristi mentioned

    4. Start the installation of your games you want to move, let Origin start and run the downloads for half a minute

    5. When all the game you want to move has started downloading - close Origin
    6. Copy over the backup og the games from the old installation folder to the new, overwriting all files

    7. Start Origin again, it will verify all the files and just adjust the registry and download the settings files.
