Origin client has an ability to limit downloading speed. This feature is located in Application Settings.

Now I'm closing this thread as it was necro-bumped.

    What platform are you on?

Xbox 360, Xbox one, PS4 or PC?

  • You can just pause the download in Origin - do other stuff - and then resume the download later.

To be honest you want to make sure your download doesn't end up corrupted by trying to mess around with it's download speed.

This is disappointing, as all other 'game downloaders' offer speed limitation.

As far as corruption, that is not how a network connection works... If limiting speed affected transit completion, ISP's would be the worst offenders, as they limit your speed overall based on how much you pay for...

    Edit:

I see that this thread is a few months old, sorry but it came up in a Search. It is still valid and the Customer complaints/requests still stand.

Might stop buying EA games until this gets implemented. Sad.

Your answer lacks common sense. Really, this is a very basic request. If EA does not care enough to provide  a built in speed limiter tool, you can still use programs like NetBalancer.

Another reason Steam is superior to Origin's bloated forceware.
