I need help for this game on Steam.

Now i know this is mainly used by origin players but if you are using steam and know how it does work i need ALOT OF HELP HERE! i have gotten this game as a gift pass like when you buy a 4 pack of a game in store and you get it as a game pass in your inventroy. Theres always an option to add it to your account as if you just bought it off the store. Now i did this and it installed like normal and everything but it asks for a CD key so i can play multiplayer but i check it out and it is for ever saying ''Requesting Key'' and i am pretty pissed off. I have verified game cache 2 times , one as an adminstrator and one normally. i still cant get my code. Any help is well appreciated!

Extra Info: A game pass cant be used from 1 person to the next so im fairly certain the game code was used with another account and it for some reason doesnt come to me for that reason. I don't see how i couldve been scammed or anything.
