If I buy a steam game from EA and activate it on origin, do I still need steam?

If I buy a steam game from EA and activate it on origin, do I still need steam to play it for it to be on or can I just have origina running? Because I bought Battlefield 2042 on another steam account...

@GUCCI_Trekkot You would if it installed "through" Steam. If Steam was just the reseller and you installed the game through Origin, then no.
