If I buy a steam game from EA and activate it on origin, do I still need steam?

If I buy a steam game from EA and activate it on origin, do I still need steam to play it for it to be on or can I just have origina running? Because I bought Battlefield 2042 on another steam account...

@ragnarok013 i dont play in other games from steam i only buy bf 2042 but i cant unlink steam acount from origin

@GUCCI_Trekkot you can unlink accounts from your Origin profile on your Origin account.  Log into Origin.com then go here: https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/connectaccounts/index go to the Steam section and click the "unlink" button.
