In game text chat area visible as a dull square

as you can see here: http://m.imgur.com/7uINaFs < area in the top left where the ingame text chat interface happens is somewhat visible as a dull square on my game screen, I must have changed so...

    try to press H to hide . when active . show

Will try, but doesn't this turn off the chat completly? I do not mid the chat messages, but that dull square that is allways showing

    If you can see the settings . gameplay. maybe there are some options
