1.) Climbing a ladder to the top of a pylon on map Rogue Transmission
2.) Froze at the top after picking up the M82A3, I tried to drop it and it froze as it dropped. Sound faded out slowly, and the system was nonresponsive
3.) PS3 Slim 120Gb
4.) Was playing Recon class
5.) Only time this has happened in the entire time I've played BF4 on my PS3. Hasn't happened since, didn't happen before. I think it was just a server error or it could've been my system, since it is a rather old system.

While I do have a post on this thread about the times my game has frozen, I have only posted to help the devs get as much info as possible about when it happens. It seems that many of you guys are having WAY worse problems than I am. In 3 days, my game froze six times. Five of those were on the same map and four of those while I was piloting a helicopter. I'm not denying that there are some bugs but this many people on the same console should not have such varied experiences from the software alone.
I hope this isn't against the rules or anything of this thread but I'd like to point out some things that I think my fellow Xbox 360 gamers might not be doing on their end, in the interest of helping out.
1) I clean my Xbox out once or maybe twice a month. You might not need to do this as often as I do, but I have a 120mm PC case fan attached to my Xbox right over the two heatsinks. This has almost entirely eliminated performance issues I was having with freezing in general. If you are under warranty on your Xbox, don't open the case, just get some air duster and blow the dust out. Trust me, this helps tremendously.
2) Make sure you install any game that you are going to be playing often to your HDD. If you don't have one, just save up and get one. You can buy a cheaper, non-MS 250 GB HDD on Amazon for like $60. It's worth the money. I have been using mine for a year and it works great.
3) If you make any major changes to the data on your HDD (i.e. installing a game, deleting games or saves), clear the system cache. This helps the HDD ran at peak performance by clearing out any clutter. When support reps tell you to do this, it is not a cop out. Think of it as clearing room and organizing bits of data on your drive, kind of (not exactly) like defragging a PC hard drive.
4) Make sure that your internet connection and modem are running at peak performance whenever you are playing this game. If your modem/router settings are not optimized for XBL then that might be a least part of some of the issues. This includes port forwarding, NAT settings, UPnP settings, DMZ (if you need to), and QoS priorities. If you and 5 other people are using the same 5mbps connection at the same time, you are bound to have connection difficulties. Especially when everyone's phone, tablet, desktops, laptops, and game consoles are fighting for bandwidth. Check speedtest.net and pingtest.net for bandwidth and connection quality respectively. Microsoft's website has instructions for which ports to forward and if you don't know how to change your settings in your modem/router, google it. Many tutorials exist online for changing settings in these pieces of hardware.
If this helps you, great. If not, try to think about what could be causing any issues on your end and eliminate as much of that as possible. Make sure that you are positive that nothing on your end is causing the issue. I know it's hard when you paid $60+ for a brand new game waiting for it to be fixed to the point of playability, but being rude and impatient (not that everyone is) is NOT the way to get the proper attention paid to the issues.
Good luck and have fun. DICE - great game dudes. BF4 is excellent and exactly what we needed. CoD kills me and Halo died. Rock on.
