I've experienced at least 6-7 freezes on PS3 since I started playing the game on launch day. I noticed two patterns of freezing, so I'll detail them both.
What were you doing before the game froze? (E.g. just joined server, in the middle of the match)
Where is it freezing? (E.g. on the deploy screen/ when player clicks deploy)
1- In the middle of the match, when customizing the main weapon (e.g. changing the scope type) the game just freezes and I have to do a hard reset. This happened to me in multiple maps--Zavod 311, Lancang Dam and Flood Zone are the ones I can remember. This seems to happen after I have played a couple other matches (i.e. after 30-45 minutes of continuous gameplay).
2- When playing conquest on Operation Locker, the game just freezes during ordinary gameplay and always towards the end of the match, when the losing team has about 50-60 tickets left. Again, I can only do a hard reset.
And on all occasions, the freezes occurred when playing conquest mode. I never had this problem when playing consecutive matches of Rush, for example.
What Version of the PS3 or Xbox360 do you have (Slim, Super Slim, 1st generation)
I have an 80 GB fat PS3.
What class were you playing at the time the game froze?
I was playing as an Engineer on Zavod 311 and as an Assault on Operation Locker when the last two freezes occurred. I know that the Support class' Indirect Fire and Perimeter Defence perks are bugged, so I never equip them.
Do you have any additional information for us?
Someone else in my household is playing the SP campaign on the same console and he experienced multiple freezes as well. It's as if the PS3 simply buckles under everything that's happening on screen, regardless of SP or MP. I'm pretty worried that my PS3 is going to be damaged--I got the YLOD on my old PS3 right after Battlefield 3 froze during a multiplayer match! I hope DICE can fix these problems and avoid them altogether on the next-gen consoles. I really enjoy the game when it lets me play...
