Invalid CD-Key from Steam

I have bought BF2 years ago on Steam and now I want to register it with Origin.

When I copy the Key into the redeem product code-field it says it's invalid. Is there a way to activate it although I have no "physical" proof like a manual with the code printed on it?

You can add your physical gamekey to our Origin client and download the game via your "My games" library.

Sometimes older games can cause trouble with code redemption directly with the Origin client. To redeem your code with Origin, please try to activate your codes on following activation website instead of using the Origin client for redemption. Get sure that you are logged in with your Origin account. If you still having trouble, get in contact with one of our Game Advisor. They can help you to get back in to your game!
