I've been trying to find ways to legally purchase the Battlefield 1942 and 2 however there doesn't seem to be anyway of legally digitally downloading it and the couple that are available offline are second hand. Is there any plans to re release these titles with how active these communities are still and people wanting to purchase it on origin, steam, or GOG? If not what exactly can I do to find purchase a copy?
Your best shot is Ebay. BF1942 was relased back in 2002 and BF2 in 2005. I dont think EA is gonna make a digital version of them for sale as they are sunset games (no MP provided). You might get lucky and find a new one but the odds are agasint you. Im pretty sure they are now considered abandonware. So dont count on EA making something.
That is kind of a shame i do feel they should place it on origin or let GOG pick it up to distribute since there is a vast community trying to keep it active and Im sure a lot of players don't want to tread legal waters when it comes to obtaining a complete copy. I had been mostly interested because of the bot support and modding aspect of the game.
