Logging into Battlefield 2 for Multiplayer

Hello.

I have been browsing these forums trying to find a solution to my problem, and trying to find a way to fill a customer support ticket for Origin/EA nad I cannot really seem to find any (I swar I remember that was possible before)!

Anyway, my issue. I have had an EA account before, I don't know why really, I never really used it. Then, DRM programs came around. One of them was Origin. I only really used it because one of my boxed games made me do so - but I buy a game on sale every now and then. Over time, Origin informed me of a merger of the two accounts: EA account and Orgin account. I believe I have merged them, altho my ccount info doesn't seem mention any connected accounts (perhaps it doesnt for thta).

So I have A few Battlefield games. BF 3 and 1942 I have no problems with. Battlefield  2142 I had issues playing online (to be fair, the game is basicly  a MP exclusive). After a while googling,  realised it was some company named Pong responsible for accounts and passwords handling for that game, so I have made an account wth them to play BF2142. So to play: Logging into Origin, starting BF2142, logging into Pong (even though that name isn't mentioned nywhere in the game: It just says logging into Battlefield 2142).

Fe days ago, I have seen Battlefield 2 on sale. Sure I thought. 2.5$ for it, even thought quite old? Nice. Playing with bots is fun and all (I am more of a casual FPS gamer so it is fine with me). A few of my friends hae also bought it, so we thought we should go online. Now this is where my troubles start (sorry for the long intro). After logging into Origin and starting BF2, you have the option of selecting Singleplayer or Multiplayer option of plying. If you choose SP, you can create and delete accounts all you want (like with most games nowadays - bscly just for keeping score and so on. Fine. But for MP you need to have an online made account. Now. I don't know which account details I needed to enter.

I  have tried Origin. Not working. Tried Pong. Not working. . I have also tried logging in with my old EA account E-mail (not sure whether it was the last/correct one though, for it was changed a lot - and since it was replaced/merged into Origin, not sure if it still viable).

The e-mail's used for all of those are the same though. I tried making a new account for Battlefield 2, using that same e-mail - it says the e-mail is already in use fo another account -> which is what has led me to thnking it must be one of those old e-mails (ones I mentioned before) used for logging into in the first place. I haven't tried creating another account though.. There seems to already be some sort of account tied to my email that can be used for it.

So. I want to use my "gaming" e-mail to have an account associated with Battlefield 2. So which account do I use to log in? Or is there no way but creating a new account? I have never played the game before, so have no ranks in the game whatsoever (I would expect the game be mostly deserted anyway - but me and my pals would like to enjoy the game).

Thank you for any help.

If anyone wants to kidnap the thread for a question of their own, please do so, but please do not deiate much frm the original question - you can post other questsoins.

I did an extensive google search and have not found the answer I was looking for. If the answer does sit on the net and someone points it out: my humble apologies.

    No one has a solution?

Maybe my question seems too extensive.

Basicaly a TL, DR version would be: I just bought Battlefield 2 on Origin. With GameSpy being non-existant can I still play it online? It only lets me log into singleplayer (defaultplayer) and not multiplayer. It doesnt accept my Origin account. It does say my e-mail is being used if I try creating an account. I have no idea how to retrieve my account/password.

I understand BF2 isn't a priority right now for EA/Dice but I really wanted to get myself into Battlefield and 2-3 looked like a good place to start. - I am enjoying BF3 but I would like to play something simpler at times aswell.

  • I m in the same situation got an old version (DVD case) and installed it again.

But it looks like I have an account and as always I cant remember what I did these day`s.

Maybe because this day every f... Website wants me to log in for nothing so I got about 20 Logins I can think of and maybe 20more I dont know eny more.

But if so where can I reset my password again by typing my mail adress!!??

Because they say its already taken witch is no surprise!
