Low FPS in loading screen, game won't start (solution: turn off MSI Afterburner)

Hiho,

I have a problem since now 2 months or so. When I try to join a server, and the game opens, I'm stuck in the loading screen with like 1 FPS. The game won't start and I have to kill the process to exit. There is the newest graphics card driver installed. Any ideas?

  • I had the same issue, or almost the same. Framerate was about 1 to 2 fps on loading and would takes ages. And when it finally loaded it would still be 1 or 2 fps in game where i normally was locked at 60 fps before.

Turned out it was msi afterburner causing it, only on bf4 though, disabled afterburmer and back to 60fps., but dont know if its the same problem as you

  • Try repairing the game and reinstalling system components using the directx, punkbuster and vc installers found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer

Could you please provide us some details about your PC hardware, repair the game via Origin and disable the "In Game" overlay function via the Origin application settings?

    Cheers

Nice! This turned out to be the solution. MSI Afterburner was the bugging software in this case. Strange, since I used it for years without ever having problems with it. Also not with any Battlefield title until some months ago. In the end, I'm happy to be able to play again, although I miss my little program...
