Sorry, but what is the connection with the very specific problem the OP has. If you see that as a general problem you should open your own thread.
The latency to "login.ea.com" is not great, but also not really bad. There wont be any login problems if it doesn't get considerably worse.
The login problem from a few days ago was most probably server side, and not a general latency problem.
Furthermore, comparing the latency to a i3d game server with that of a login server is like comparing apples and oranges.
If you ping a BF1 game server you should get much better results. (I definitely get much better results.)
