Memory Leak Issue

Are DICE even acknowledging or looking into the Memory leak issue that is affecting a lot of AMD users?

For those who dont know, there is an issue that has been appearing in the game that causes battlefield to gradually use up RAM on peoples PCs with unnamed files as they go about playing the game. So for instance in Task Manager, When I start playing the game, about 40-50% of my 8GB of ram will be in use about 1'500 - 2000 MB being BF4. This is fine. However after the first round is finished and the next one loads. This number will jump to 60-70% of Ram then next round 85-90%, however bf4 still claims to be only using between 1500-2000 MB of the total Ram. then it starts hitting 99% and the game becomes unplayable, and eventually crashes.

However even if I willingly exit the game, end process in task manager, or allow it to CTD. The total Ram usage on my pc will stay on 90-99-% Ram usage. task manager confirms that a lot of Ram is being used, however no process appear to be claiming any more Ram than usual, and this continues too happen until I manually restart the PC.

This is seriously ruining my, and alot of other players experience, on a game I spent £80 on including premium.

I can confirm that this DOESN'T happen on any other game I play on my PC so can pretty much rule hardware failure on my end. And that by looking through other posts, it seems that it mainly affects people with AMD HD Radeon GPU's, with all variations of RAM in their PC ranging from 4GB to 16GB

My Specs
Windows 8.1 x64
8GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 5800 GPU (latest Beta drivers, had the same results on the default drivers and even rolled back)
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, Q6700 2.66Ghz

(this is coppied and pasted from battlelog tech support page as no one from dice or EA has come forward. I have also been asking dice and EA on twitter if there is any progress and have not heard form either... )

  • well thanks for the reply. But if someone from DICE or EA see this. For the length of time this problem has existed that just isnt good enough. I'm not going to do the whole "Give me my money back" spiel. But I have payed a substantial amount of money for this product, and my enjoyment is severly hampered.

I just hope they fix this, and all the other well documeted problems, before moving on to their next game. Or at least eventually fix everything so as to not leave people who dont want to pay for their next installment with a buggy regretable mess.
