Hello all,
I purchased Battlefield 4 last night, and allowed it to download and install while I slept. When I woke up, I decided to give it a quick startup to ensure that it had installed correctly. Unfortunately, I am being given an error message when i try to launch the game from the website that pulls up after clicking "Play" in the Origin app, (Invalid License. Reason code = Missing DLL: [MSVCP110.dll] Error: 0x7E). I have tried multiple steps to fix this, found in many other threads concerning this topic within this forum. I have also tried attaining the missing .dll file, (with no success), so far, I have exhausted all options with the exception of reinstalling the game. I have also made an attempt to contact EA via twitter, callback service, as well as by phone at their corporate office in California. I would prefer to fix the game and play it, rather than request a refund. I am running the following hardware:
I would be very grateful for any advice or assistance in resolving this issue. It should be noted that I am willing and able to complete more complex tasks than that of a beginner, so any steps that you would have me take will not fall upon inexperienced ears.
Thank you,
SP
What troubleshooting steps have you tried, did this begin after upgrading to Win 10 or did you purchase and install the game after Win10 was already on the system (it sounds like this is the case)? What typically works for me when there's a missing or corrupted file error is that I right click Origin and run it as an admin, then I right click the BF4 icon in your origin library and select the "repair" option. This audits your installation and replaces an missing or damaged files required to play BF4. After the repair is done try playing again to see if the problem persists.
