Mouse movement EXTREMELY choppy all of a sudden - unable to play anymore

Two days ago all of a sudden my mouse movement in BF4 became EXTREMELY choppy. If I run in circles as an infantry player and move the mouse accordingly (circle movement), the mouse input doesn't seem to reach the game correctly. It feels like an extreme lag, but it's not my internet connection (15ms ping, uplink 10mb/s). If I run in circles a bit, at a certain point, the game doesn't seem to react anymore at all. It just performs the last mouse inputs in an extremely choppy manner. It looks like robot movement in old science fiction movies. Moving - chop (stops) -moving... I also had the impression that in that moment my keyboard inputs are not processed correctly or at all anymore.
I did this circle movement to test the chopped mouse movement, since it was the most severe while I was doing that. But also if I play and aim normally I can feel the chopped input interpretations of the mouse movement, which makes it impossible for me to play the game anymore. I have been playing the game since it was playable for about 800 hours, with no problems whatsoever.
The day before this started the mouse worked just fine in BF4. My mouse (Razer Diamondback Plasma Edition) has been working for 10 years and is still working just fine in desktop applications and CSGO for example.
Facts:
- haven't installed any software around the time this started (except the new AMD driver, which I had to install because it caused the game to crash on startup apparently due to a mantle problem; installed my older version again and the problem stopped)
- mouse is working fine in any other application (CSGO, desktop applications)
- all drivers are up to date since this is a very new PC (no, I didn't have the problems with the mouse movement in BF4 after getting it)
- tried repairing the game files, of no avail
- I replicated the problem on the test range, seems to be exactly the same problem (maybe a bit less bad, but that may be subjective)
- specs: Intel i7 6700, 8GB DDR4 RAM, Asrock Motherboard, Gigabyte AMD Fury
Two things stand out in my mind, you mentioned mantle, does it still happen if you switch to Direct X, since many Mantle performance problems are solved by switching to Direct X since Mantle is no longer in development by AMD. If switching to Direct X yields no results do you have Origin in game active, as it causes issues similar to the ones you describe? If you have it enabled disable it and try playing again.
To turn off Origin in game log into Origin, in the upper left hand corner click on the word "Origin" in the menu, and then click on "Application Settings". Next go to the "Origin in game" tab and uncheck the "enable Origin in game" box.
