I would say we go through some basic connection workarounds first, let's start with your Media Connection.
The Media Server Connection allows other devices to connect to your PLAYSTATION 3. Often, the Media Server Connection is known to cause issues when players try to connect to the Internet for online game play.
- Access your Xross Media Bar menu
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Network Settings
- Select Media Server Connection and choose the Disable option.
Turn off the Media Service connection can slower your PS3 internet connection (especially for downloading).
Pleaseenable the following online ports on your connection:
TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 10000-10100, 17502, 42127
UDP: 3659, 14000-14016
For specific instructions on how to open your ports, please visit http://www.portforward.com/ or contact your router manufacturer.
Cheers

I DO NOT WORK FOR EA
MY VIEWS ARE MY SOLE OPINION AND NOT EAs- Anonymous11 years agoI deleted the game utility and everything, unplug my router and just plug my modem straight to the ps3, downloaded the game utility again, but this time was worse, now when I try to go to multiplayer it says lost connection with EA, before I was able to play at least for 5 minutes, now it won't even connect to the server. I post forwarded my conecction all the way how they posted in and nothing? So I put bf3 multiplayer and it works fine. But bf4 nothig.. Is anyone working on a new update?

I have this same problem on BF4 PS3 1.17, I have tried everything on my end, from port forwarding and save deleting to even a new router. The only work around I found is using a different PSN account. It Must be on BF4's end of the connection. I did do that upgrade where I paid 10$ to use the PS4 version with the PS3 disk and so maybe that messed up my account?
Anyway I am trying to get them to reset my account, but could not get them on the phone at this time.
I hope this helps you and others save the time of messing with your router settings. Since I never before had to port forward my games.
