Multiplayer with 2 People in Same Room

Is it possible to set up multiplayer (I have a Playstation Plus account) and do a multiplayer game with someone who is in the same room as I am, playing together in person? I have yet to find anything out on this.

It is possible if you have two Playstations with two separate PSN accounts. If you are trying to play on the same account, this wont work. Also, there is no split screen play on Hardline either. Hope this helps you out!!
