Hey i wanted to know what does the wire with an "X"on it means at the top right corner of the screen? im getting that constantly and every time it appears i lag terribly

That means that it seems you have an connection timeout or bottleneck. Have you already tried to reset your routermodem as well as to connect your console to a wired rather than a wireless connection? Some details about your internet connection and routermodem might help us to investigate your issue further.
