No gun glitch and mid-match freezing on PS3

Why is Battlefield 3 being difficult about wanting me to enjoy it to the maximum?

I've managed to only temporarily solve the no gun glitch if only for one match, and it didn't freeze either!
The first thing I did was completely format my PS3 to its factory setting because I had corrupted data in the Game Data folder. Then I redownloaded any DLC, the online pass and the update. After cleaning my game disk and reinstalling the game data, I went into the Internet browser and deleted from cookies to authentication info. Then I deleted the predictive text dictionary, just to cover any possiblities.

I had one complete match, 500 ticket conquest on Oman... and it was glorious because I joined in when my team was down about 150 tickets with none of the objectives and somehow I managed to help enough for my team to pull out the win and force the other team to resort to baseraping. For some reason none of them got that I was driving a tank with IR vision.

I had to turn the system off because I had other things to take care of and when I came back, just to be safe, deleted the cache from the browser. I managed to spawn with a weapon again, but about 20 minutes in the game froze. From that point on I haven't managed to spawn with a gun yet, so I really haven't stayed in a game long enough to see if freezing was still an issue.

I'm deleting and reinstalling the game data in the same order to see if I can make it work. But seriously, I can't be doing that every time I want to play this amazing game, it's just depressing because I thoroughly enjoy this game more than other popular FPS's.

Also, my system is really well ventilated, it's raised off of the surface of the table it's on and there's a box fan next to it pulling air away from it.

    You've got a couple of issues happeneing here.  On the no gun glitch, when I spawn with no hands and no weapon, I hit the button to switch weapons (Triangle on PS3, “Y” on Xbox, and whichever key you bound to swap weapons on PC), the game will hesitate slightly and my hands will appear with my pistol.  I hit the button again and it swaps at normal speed to my primary weapon.  This works every time for me.  It's not a fix but a work around to keep you playing and killing without dying due to no gun.

    Regarding the freezing it's made a return since the last patch on some player's machines.  One thing that may help is to rebuild PS3 database Sometimes it also helps to rebuild your PS3's database as described here:  http://www.ps3blog.net/2011/01/28/tips-and-tricks-ps3-rebuild-database-faq-recovery-menu/

    Also turn off your media server functionality on the PS3 since it takes up system resources, hard wire your conosle into your router as well if you're not already.  I also recomment to avoid high ticket matches, several months ago when freezing issues were bad the main time it happened where on high ticket CQ matches when the action became heavy.  Try a lower ticket count and see that helps.

    No dice, it ended up doing the same thing as before (after I deleted and reinstalled game data). I had one complete and fantastic match, but lost because the other team was just better. Then next match the game stuttered and I only had a weapon for my first life, managed to get a tank and do some damage and then it froze. And this was a 200 ticket conquest on Oman.

    And the second match I switched weapons after the game stuttered. So the game stuttered, I switched weapons three times so I was back on my primary then my character stuttered with his primary and had it for a life.

    I have the same problem. I would just like to know if the problem is the PS3 or the game. If it is the game, how can i justify buying BF4 not knowing if this is going to happen to that too. I love BF3 but my patience is running out. I tried deleteing all the DLC for BF3 and reloading it but that fix lasted a very short time. SOMEONE AT DICE or EA PLEASE DO SOMETHING QUICK.

    I toats agree. If I knew it was my PS3 I wouldn't be as upset about it, but I can play Skyrim hours on end and only deal with a little bit of "lag" and an occasional freeze, and that game had some major issues on the PS3.

    I have a similar issue with my game as well, i spawn with no guns, no primary and no secondary, i can switch between the two of them because the recticle changes, but no gun or hands appear and i cannot shoot. I also cannot knife or throw grenades or spot enemies. Also when the match ends or i quit the match, the game gets stuck on the loading screen. I tried removing the game data and reinstalling it as well as all the dlc and premium and cleaning my disk but the problem still persists.
