why in the world so much vram, this means my GTX 690 wont even pull this game on max settings?
Hello,
Unless you run at 4K you wont need 3GB. That 3GB VRAM needed if you running 3 monitors 4k you might only need 2....People that running resolutions higher than 1080p/1200p also need more then 3gb vram🙂 If you currently playing at 1920x1080 so I am sure 2GB will be fine for you, dont worry🙂

Hello,
Did you try run your pc on this webpage http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri to see how it handles bf4 for the moment? I think you should be ok with your pc for bf4, if you can run bf3 in high settings you should be ok in bf4 as well🙂

Greetings. I installed BF4 earlier today and am having FPS issues. My system is
AMD 6 core x-6120
3gb HD 7970
10 gb ram
Win 7 64 bit
Do I need to upgrade I cannot get into the recommended fps and I run the test for performance and always get bad even on the lowest res and details, I am assuming this will get fixed, so I will be patient.

Wouldnt worry, the 690 uses it's vram set up differently to sli cards, and even in games like Crysis 2 with heavy mods that go over 2gb of vram, my 690 eats it up, max payne 3 allows for the highest setting requiring 3gb or vram, and skyrim can be fully modded out with insane amounts of vram usage and still be fine.
The 690 matches 7990 with it's higher vram and even outperforms titan with 6gb of vram upto crazy high resolutions . No worries your card wont handle game
