[PC] After 15/11 Patch, BF1 wont connect, rank reset to 0

Been playing BF1 multiplayer on PC fine since launch

Since updating to new patch:

  • BF1 loading screen stays on "connecting" for quite a while
  • Once in menu, some UI is missing (quit button, side tabs) (img attached)
  • sometimes "go online" button shows, sometimes it doesnt
  • cant find any servers
  • can still play single player with current progress saved
  • Soldier rank and stats progess has reset to 0 in game and in companion
  • when I try to quit, gets caught at black screen with loading/connection animation in top right
  • have to close manually through task manager

Have tried:

  • update and repair on BF1
  • tried while firewall and antivirus disabled
  • modem reset
  • check ports fowarded

Extra Info:

  • Location: Adelaide, South Australia
  • ISP: Internode

Updates:

  • 16/11a: Was able to join a friends game (while "not connected") on the first try through the friends list in game, played full conquest game without issue. This seems to have forced it to connect to the servers, and my stats and server browser were back and working. My stats on battlefield companion also came back straight after. Still had to force close as game refused to quit from main menu
  • 16/11b: Closed the previous session after my 1 game and reopened bf1. Menu UI was fine, but still no connention, clicked "go online" and after 1 or 2 mins finally connected, seems to be working fine.

Disable DirectX12 and restart your game, I was having the same issues as you and this fixed it for me. I have no idea why or how it works, but my game went from slow connections and messed up menus to normal with just that one thing.

  • i can confirm ... that issue is if you activate DirectX12 ... wth EA? Thats how you optimize the game?

  • also confirming that turning DX12 off fixes the issue as my game connected straight away and exits the game perfectly fine now

Thanks guys, Disabling DirectX12 seemed to work, no idea why that would mess with connection, but happy it's working now!

are they gonna fix this problem with the next update? or we're gonna disable dx12 forever?

  • I guess the question is if EA is reading this thread?

Im not sure if there is any other Bug tracker or something like that?
