Pc Controller Will Not Work With Battlefield 4

Hi. I Have A Razer Sabertooth Xbox/PC Controller And own battlefield 4. the game works perfectly with keyboard and mouse but when i use my controller its as if it doesnt even exist. What Can I Do? The contoller doesn't require any software as i have a razer blade laptop and its literally just plug and play. The controller works perfectly with other games on steam but with battlefield 4 it doesnt even get 'detected' and does not work at all. please help!
