PC Hard Crash/Restarts on Loading Screen

ok try this could be the issue...Edit nix this I posted it dang ok thinking on this ... Did you try a different browser something on the pc is doing this 

Uninstall the HD Audio Driver from the video card driver install add/remove programs. This silly thing makes issues in BF4 for some. Reboot then repair BF4 to be safe.

I uninstalled NVIDIA Hd audio from control panel. Then I restared, enabled SLI. When I did so, windows automatically installed drivers for Nvidia hd audio. However now when I goto control pannel add/remove. There is no Nvidia HD audio option to uninnstall. 

mm ok no worries on that  for now , so same issue I take it :/ What browser are you using for BF4? Try a different browser if not done.

using chrome, I dont think that has anything to do with it. 

I agree but I also put nothing past this game :/ I use chrome as well no issues but I  did have issues w/ IE. Have you tried different video card drivers at all ? I am kind of at a loss to try next other then doing a full removal of BF4 w/ using something like cc cleaner on the registry to be sure its a clean install. But if its a program on the PC doing this it would not fix it. So your choice I can post steps for you the way I did it to get my old error off my PC. Do you have any funny errors in event viewer?

I reverted back to 332.21, I did a clean reinstall of bf4. Neither have changed the situation.  No errors in event viewer except the ones that know the pc crashed and restarted itself.

I just had to read over the topic again something is off on the PC and I want you to check Page file it may sound crazy but worth a shot. If you have page file off due to 32gigs ram you have turn it back on. When I was on  win 7 it made crashing on my PC even with  32 gig ram :womanfrustrated: This was one reason I moved on to win 8.1 lol one of a few reasons.

Others have said if they uninstall MSI Afterburner issues / crashing is stopped. So if you have this installed remove program and test BF4. Also look at other programs as Fraps, Geforce experience ,Raptr, ASRock eXtreme Tuner and xfire are known to make issues as well. And I am sure more programs not in my list yet turn one off at a time and test BF4. Since last patch more programs now give issues :/

yes, I uninstalled nvidia experience 

I installed another game that uses the unreal 3 engine, works fine in SLI mode. (SLI Visual indicator = on)

Its only bf4 that causes any issue on my machine

Hi EvilFubAr same issue I had at one time only in BF4 :/ This second I am at a loss what you can try next I need to think more on it. I will also pull a friend in to help fix this for you as a new set of eyes on it may find something we missed.

It appears that your SLI has compatibility problems with Battlefield 4.

I would recommend you to play with one GTX 550 Ti at the cost of frames rate drop or buy a new GTX 700 series card that would outperform your SLI.

I came to this conclusion by checking out that each card works perfectly on its own so that doesn't make it a GPU problem.

Moreover, if you play any game other than Battlefield 4 on SLI, they don't crash while Battlefield 4 does.

That's the only thing I can think of after reading Zorlacc's possible solutions and recommendations.

Below is from windows reliability monitor. Its calling it a hardware error. But again I have 4 of these cards, and unless all 4 are bad its still BF4 application fault.

Nice EvilFubAr your last post I think gave me the possible fix for you. Ok this has got to do with the video card driver from what I was able to find on this error. Put the new video card diver or beta on desktop we need to get you a fully clean install of it after steps below. 

So what I need you to try is use CC cleaner the free version download it and install CC cleaner on your PC

Remove the video card driver using the tools area of CC cleaner then reboot the PC. 

When windows loads it will install a driver thats normal no big issue,  once back on desk top then open CC cleaner again. This time go to the registry area and scan  for issues , then pick fix selected issues  it will give you the choice to do a back up. Then pick fix all selected issues you may have a ton of issues if you never have used this before  its normal. Then reboot your PC again and do all the registry steps again until it finds none. Reboot your PC after you do each scan on registry. Once it finds none then move to the next step.

Now install the video card driver new one or beta :womanhappy:

Now try repair game or do this step again as the BF4 cfg could be messed up.......

BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop or trash.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Repair BF4
4- When done go test your game.

Now  test BF4 for a few hrs or days your choice lol . Keep me posted fingers crossed :womanhappy:

When cleaning reg, I fixed all issues, but when I loaded bf4, crashed and restarted, these entries are returning to the report. (after cleaning them 100%)

ok, I fix reg, reinstalled video card drivers, repaired bf4, restarted pc.

bf4 crashed still at same spot. However now there are no more errors reporting in cccleaner /reg fix

x86 was already installed and the .exe offered a repair option, which I did not run

x64 was not installed, I installed successfully.

BF4 crashed at the same point.

Hi I would run the repair option to be sure its not the issue. And then repair game again.

I ran repair on both of those files (x64,x86), then ran repair on bf4. (Should have ran repair the 1st itme but didnt think I needed to on x86 since everything I have is x64)

Amazing to me the game is working in SLI mode again.

I would also like to mention that I also performed the following actions prior to this.

-Device manager - Disabled all NVIDIA HD Audio devices

-BIOS - manually disabled the onboard gpu on my cpu, which seems to improve overall system performance/fps. It was showing in device manager before I disabled it.

Well, after a few successful times of loading bf4, pc crashed at the same spot agian.

I repeated the repair process x64& x86 VCredist.exe, then "repair" bf4, and I was able to load again.

It appears this is still an issue with bf4.

Dang EvilFubAr ok remove the solution marked on my post as its not fixed yet . Lets try this again to be safe. If this fails again how do you feel about doing a fully clean install of BF4 or just a fully clan install of just origin first to rule it out ? Edit I can give you steps for both ..

ok, I did those steps again, didnt really change anything.

Im still trying to figure out why its successful sometimes and crashes others, however its not crashing 100% of the time anymore, which is a big improvement.

I did a clean install last week, so Im not going to do that again yet.

Clean install is a pain not hard but time :/ Something has to be off on the PC still what did we not do on this. I need to read over everything again we did.. 

I was a huge win7 fan until I got win8.1 set up like win 7 lol. The thing I love most on win8.1 is it has the command line to refresh the PC and it can fix registry errors and you dont lose anything on the desk top. I am not saying go get win 8.1 lol not at all as windows is windows they all have issues lol.

This sec all I can think of is check to make sure every driver on the PC is up to date and make sure bios is up to date. And check the PC for bugs as well Norton is a hog to run but it is good and they do have a free trial on Norton360

When you crash what error do you get now? Have a look in event viewer for errors as well. We  need to fix this for you lol
