[PC] Server disconnect after playing some minutes since June update

I played BF1 almost every day since it got released. With no problems and I still love this game.

But since the last update in the end of June 2018, every game I play in Battlefield 1 is like this:

1. Join

2. Play 5-10 Minutes

3. All players suddenly freeze

4. 2-3 Seconds later: Server Disconnects without any further message

Nothing else changed for my system or network. I just updated the game via Origin automatically.

I already tried the following

- Updated my graphics driver

- Completely uninstalled and installed the game

- Flushed my DNS, reset winsock and so on...

Please help!

I am playing on PC with i7  4790k, GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB RAM, Win 8

  • Hey @4ctionRadar,

I apologize this issue is still happening.

Have you tried contacting EA Support via Live Chat to see if there's other steps you may take to resolve this?

    You can do so here:

    https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

Maybe they will have a Solution that I wasn't able to mention, or could have missed.

Let us know if you still need assistance.

    Thanks 🙂

Did you get any information on a possible solution? I have the exact same issue: Play for 5-10 minutes, all players freeze, disconnected from server. My connection is working completely fine in all my other games.

    Hey @4ctionRadar,

Have you tried any of the following troubleshooting steps?

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-pc/

You can also try opening the suggested Ports for Battlefield 1:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/

As a last resort, you can also try completely uninstalling/reinstalling Battlefield 1 if you haven't done so already.

Let us know if you still need assistance.

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi @iluminatethesky,

thanks for the reply, unfortunately I tried all those things already. Multiple times.
The game used to work fine (same Internet provider, same pc specs) but I can't play a single game for more than 10 minutes without being disconnected. No matter which server.

All my other games work fine, Battlefield 4 for example does too.

@Cyka-Blyat2pac yeah... I tried Smart Port Forwarding (software) and forwarded port 3659. That seemed to work for a bit (2-3 games) but the behaviour is the same again, even with that running.

I found several sources with people having the same issue, some of them are on UPC like I am. One discussion is over here:
    https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/133400/will-this-game-ever-be-at-playable-state-for-us-upc-connection-lost-to-session

Someone suggests turning on DMZ mode on your router but that didn't solve the issue for me...

Yes, that was my post as well. You have 2 options: use a VPN (Windscribe's free plan is the best, I tried multiple services, this has the most bandwidth and largest data plan, 10GB/month) or don't play the game. I choose the first but ended up with the latter. Even though Windscribe is your best option, the gaming experience will be horrible on highly populated servers because of the additional latency, so eventually I quit playing. Since then I changed my plan at UPC to the bigger that was available (500Mbps), got a brand new router from the ISP and also changed my second router to Archer C1200. Previously I had set up the second router as a subnetwork, but now after I changed everything I decided to set it up as just an extender device. I have DMZ, my Nat Type is open as the Windows Xbox app states, with 36 ms latency and 1% packet loss. There is nothing I can do.

This picture summarizes everything I felt since I tried the game, I am at stage 7:

I tested playing on some servers while connected to the hotspot of my phone (which is also on UPC) and I didn't get any disconnects here but that's not really an option... I really have no idea what Battlefield 1 is doing different than any other game on my machine. I have zero problems with any of them. Im at stage 4...
