It is very frustrating to use a product that you paid for yet can not use it.
I am very sure that most of the younger guys here can help you a bit more than an old guy like me. It's a job just to keep up with the new technology, but troubleshooting should still be some what similar to what I'm used to over 20 years ago.
Here are a few basic things that you can do
One - Press CTRL + ALT + Del and start the task mansger, then kill all the processes and programs that you are not using
Two - Clear your cache and cookies
Three - Get a good Melware scanner (I had similar problem on my computer, and turns out that I had a few melwares that were causing it. Now, wife no longer have ADMIN priviledge .. LOL)
Four - Restart your router. For last few nights, I had a hard time gettting on the servers and once I reboot the router, it workedright away without lag. (I was getting frustrated thinking it was EA / DICE fault like anyoneelse would, but I tried a few basic thing at home and it worked! Its not EA / DICE fault for my internet connection and router issues)
Fifth - See if you still get the lags or can not join server message after you direct connect youy computer to the router. Sometimes, wifi works in a funny way. Also, try the speed test.

Right I am going to set the scene here:
I am an experienced programmer and have extensive knowlegde of computer systems. All of the troubleshooting you listed I have already done. As well as other more complex things that should have solved the issue by now.
Considering I have no issue playing any of my other 80+ games installed on my PC I find it hard to believe this is an issue on my end. As well as the fact I run virus scans, malware and registry cleaners and update all my programs every 12 hours anyway.
This issue has only presented itself since the latest update. I had assumed that immediately after the patch it was a server issue as they all updated, however we are now 3 days after the patch was launched and this issue still has not gone away.
I have attempted to use 5 different browsers for Battlelog, manually update BattleEye to a beta version and back again to normal version (neither make a difference), manually update PB - its already the latest version.
This all leads me to the conclusion that the update in some way is flawed and has introduced bugs that were probably not present before - this seems to be a common occurence with any patches for any games that have been developed and released by DICE/EA anyway so I really don't know why I am so surprised.
I have been a pretty loyal Battlefield customer for some time and I really do feel that I am being treated with no respect or care when I can't even access a product that has cost me around £80.00-90.00
I will be asking for an immediate refund, if you can direct me to a link that I may make this request (since the EA website is about as clear as mud and about as user friendly as a kick in the teeth) I essentially want the money back - the original value, not your heavily discounted value that you so conveniently priced the game at after launch - this would be for both my Game and Premium to be refunded.

I knew you have way way way more knowledge than I do when it comes to computer. I am close to the age where I would be asking people like you what button to press to dial on my cell phone soon.
I believe to get the refund, unfortunately, the only option you have is to contact the EA help (even though, most times, they are not helpful at all) or origin directly. We are all users and don't work for EA. We are just trying to help you or direct you to the right direction.
As I stated in the past and on other posts, I wish EA would hire people who play the game that they are supporting, or have more presence on this forum.
