@DingoKillr
I'm sorry, could you explain your reply a little better by chance?
My post is talking about vehicle classes, the classes added to BF1 and/ or BF5. The specific classes only for vehicles.
I'm stating in my post I want this next upcoming Battlefield game to be like BF4 where it had no vehicle classes.

Sniper taxis were good. Sniper-tags-collector-taxis were even better.

Sorry, I don't know this reference of "sniper taxis". My early years of Battlefield were on console if that helps.I did a quick Google search and found a video of a sniper class sniping someone out of a small vehicle. Is that called a "sniper taxi"?

No. Often at the beginning of a round in bf4 snipers would take a jet and bail over something they wanted to lay prone and snipe from. Putting their team in an awkward position if the enemy actually had dedicated pilots who could then proceed to farm since no threat remained against them.

Far more people enjoyed BF3/BF4 even with 'camper taxi's' and I enjoyed killing them with my MAV pushing them off their roof tops. I'm sure many would disagree with you to keep the other classes in the game, it needs to go back to BF3/BF4 style gameplay and forget everything about BFV if they don't want to be on the chopping block.
- DingoKillr5 years agoNot applicable@TankerFlanker if you are going off preferred play than BF1 not BF4 as many like to claimed.
- DingoKillr5 years agoNot applicable@Popa2caps your talking about driver/pilot class(infantry base). The words "vehicle class" to me and others means different tanks, planes or boats.
- UP_Hawxxeye5 years agoLegend@DingoKillr yeah I am also confused about that.

I've re-read my post a couple of times, but still can't come up with that interpretation, but each person is different, so each can interrupt it differently. If I didn't want vehicles in the upcoming Battlefield, I would have just stated, " Please No, Vehicles...". Still I'll change the title to help others, just in-case of any confusion.Understand, I'm not saying the words "vehicle class", I'm saying the words "Vehicle Classes". The "es" could be overlooked.
To me, "Vehicles" in Battlefield, means all of them, no matter the type. Example: Tanks, Choppers, Transports are all vehicles.
To me "Vehicle Classes" in Battlefield are vehicle specific classes one plays as. Example: Spawning in a vehicle in Battlefield 1 would make you a tanker / driver class.
I just don't want to see these vehicle specific classes return in the upcoming Battlefield. They were only in Battlefield 1, and Battlefield 5.

I'm not a fan of driver/pilot class. DICE should just lock the driver/pilot inside their vehicle because they can already repair it from the inside so there's no reason for them to get out.
I'm a fan of old school Battlefield games where infantry could hop into any vehicle they find and start having fun.
Now it's like DICE wants you to choose between being infantry or vehicle. In older Battlefield titles there was no distinction and any infantry player on the Battlefield could hop in a tank or plane and start having fun.
In BF1 and BFV that's not possible without dying first, because most vehicles are only accessible from the respawn screen.

Any class can steal vehicles, certainly in BF1, you just can't repair if you haven't got the tool equipped.

I agree with this. I dont ever want to see that again

Very true. I wish they would just remove the vehicle classes and just leave it to 4 classes, pick your gadgets and go play a game, with some vehicles along the way. I still think DICE got lost once they started working on Battlefront titles.
Vehicle classes in my eyes just limit the sandbox experience. You don't have the creative openness anymore. Plus the repairing while in a vehicle needs to be removed immediately, what a bad design decision.

The reasons Tanker/Pilot class should exist
1) If you are going to use a vehicle you should make a sacrifice on gadgets and weapons and not just a straight up buff. That has been part of balancing BF such as an Engineer(AT) don't t carry ammo.
What is the point of a medic piloting a plane. If you want to be a medic focus on that.
We don't know if special function each infantry class has. Being a Recon could give huge advantage on spotting target if in a vehicle.
2) Auto repair of vehicles is part of the problem with OP vehicles in BF3/4 you never required to carry the engineer tool. No team work required just hide and Auto-repair.
If you have a vehicle you should repair it or seek someone to repair it for you.
3) To stop undesirable play
- Sniper taxis
- players swapping to get new vehicle specializations.
- faster reload.
- drivers using AT rockets during tank v tank.( my guess it also part why the extra animation)
- reduce handover to enemy team.
