pnkbstrtb.exe disappearing from services.msc
So, like most people, I am getting the pnkbstrb.exe initialization failed error that keeps kicking me from the server after playing for less than five minutes rendering the game completely unplayable...

So is this going to get fixed or should I just be demanding a refund for selling me a defective product?

I would not call this a solution. this is more of being redirected again just as EA support as been constantly doing to me. I really shouldnt have to go through this much trouble just to play a game. THanks for the attempts though.
Well i have more or less the same problem ,getting kicked from the game because of punkbuster. I´ve done the steps listed so far nothing works ,....
But i think my problem starts a bit earlier , while i try to install or repair punkbuster it already says that punkbuster can´t be installed because it can´t find punkbuster......... WTF
well when i can only see PnkBstrA under C:\Windows\System32 and no PnkBstrB and what ever i do i have no idea how i can install PnkBstrB

PunkBuster on the Windows™ operating system requires two running services. (PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB) Normally these are installed when the game is installed. If you'd like to manually install PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB, please download our PunkBuster service installer.
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads.phphint: run this file as "an administrator" or with an user with admin rights.
clue: check with compmgmt.msc (run in console) on users if your user is an admin or reenable administrator account (right click enable account and set a password) and try installing on administrator profile
