Pre-Order vehicle bundle bonus for BF3?

Maybe I am missing something, but I would assume those of us that pre-order BF4 are all avid BF3 fans. That being the case why on earth would I want all the vehicle unlocks in a two year old game? Why not give them to us in the new game instead? Just questioning the logic here. It seems kind of silly to me.
