Private server bug

My friend got bf3 premium ed last night downloaded all the updates rented a server for a week and when you enter the private server you get a lost connection after about  min and a half and it keeps happening. IM the admin and have tried all kinds of changes and gamemodes and same results any suggestions?  P.S.. He does not have a PC to go online to try to fix it so im helping him.
