Ps3 super slim only get issues when put hdd drive upgrade in.

I have a super slim 12 GB which I upgraded with a 80GB HDD. I installed BF4 and could not connect to a single MP game for longer than 12 seconds before being kicked to the XMB screen. I went through all the trouble shooting guides before removing the HDD and reverting back to the original 12GB SDD. As soon as I did this it cured my issue 100 percent. After today's 1.04 patch came out Once again I upgraded the HDD to see if it had been fixed bt again no game longer than 12 seconds. I have tried Another fully formatted HDD and same issues. Any ideas. Please acknowledge this question.

  • Nothing to do with your he'd, that is incidental. Almost everyone across the board is having an issue with not being able to log on today after installing that stupid patch. They are doing a good job on not responding .... Maybe they see the writing on the wall and they're about to change there names.

The thing is I have removed the HDD and I can play MP again with no issues. Even after 1. 04 so it seems to conflict with the upgrade. I wonder how many others with super slims or even those who have upgraded Are having the same issues?

It sounds like a PS3 hardware issue. Have you contacted Sony or been to the Sony forums to see if others have had similar issues and what they did to fix their issue?

Thanks for the reply, I should have said that I have no problems playing other games with it in, including GTA 5 which has a massive download and would demand more of the hardware and HDD. So to me it points towards the game itself.

Can you post a link to the HDD you're using?  Make/model #, or the like?  It might not be compatible with the PS3.
