[PS3] This is absolutely ridiculous

Last night I was playing 100% perfectly fine, no lag or crashes or any issues at all.

Today, after buying dragons teeth, bf4 is completely 100% unplayable.

Every. Single. Match.

I rubber band so bad I can't even leave my spawn. I've tried multiple servers.

Also, I know it's not my connection causing this because my up/down speeds are perfect and my ping is just fine, and I also tested other multiplayer games.

I don't know how else to put it other than it's just unplayable. My entire squad of friends experienced the same exact problems in every server we joined.

I have never seen such a shtstorm of lag in my entire life.

I'm beyond irritated because I literally spent the last $15 I had till my next paycheck to get this dlc and now I can't even play regular maps let alone bf4 multiplayer AT ALL.

WHAT IS GOING ON

  • There may be external issues right now not related to your connection creating the lag but here are a few steps that you can do with the PS3 to minimize or mitigate lag and freezing:

    1. hard wire your console into the router
    2. turn off the PS3 media server - this allows other devices to log into the PS3 to access media and is a resource hog taking up resources that BF4 desperately needs. Go to >Settings>Network Settings>Media Server Connection and DISABLE!
    3. Rebuild your PS3 Database (don't worry you won't lose any data) as described here - this solves many PS3 centric problems: http://www.ps3blog.net/2011/01/28/tips-and-tricks-ps3-rebuild-database-faq-recovery-menu/
    4. Ensure that your console HDD isn't almost full
    5. Make sure that your console is clean and dust free in an open space - heat makes computers (and consoles) run slower.
    6. coordinate with your family members\roommates to ensure nobody is using too much bandwidth while you play online.
    7. Cycle the power on your router to ensure that you have a good connection.

***Most importantly play in your own region. That means you will have to use server broser and click R3 to select your filters to include only servers in your own region but the result is worth it.
