PS3 Version 1.08

I posted my issue last night and so far there is only one other person (also in Japan) that has the exact same issue as me onPS3. 

I crashed last night on the first game of the evening - no surprise there and on reboot found there was an update for the game. Downloaded and installed. I am now on Version 1.08 and cannot join any server anywhere. No compatible servers message every time. Can't join friends, searching, editing filters for servers doesn't bring any results either. 

No one else on my friends list got an update message last night. They are all on premium and I'm not so I thought that was the issue, but one other friend who doesn't have premium also came on last night and he said he didn't get an update either and he was playing normally yet I couldn't find "any compatible servers"... So it's not a region only update. 

Anyone else on PS3 1.08 and can't join servers? 

I think when the game crashes and you hard reboot and send the crash report via PS3, you then have the option to rebuild the file structure to check for corrupted files. I crash every 3 or 4 games and skip that part as I've never had to do it before for BFBC2 and BF3 and they always crashed so.... 

But I think this time, some files got corrupted or something confusing my PS3 to think it had an earlier version than it actually does and I've downloaded some update that doesn't exist and it has put me out of action for who knows how long... 

Has anyone else had the same issue? What version is everyone on? Any advice?

The update last night was 400mb so I guess the update gets added to all this data - I have China Rising because it was included with my version - also I have a code for BF4 downloadable version.
