Prior to the anti-cheat update, I used DS4windows to allow BF1 to recognize my Dualsense controller. I used it as mixed input, with the controller in my left hand, mouse in the right for comfort and playstyle purposes.
After this update, the app is no longer allowed to run while BF1 is running. This completely removed support for this controller type.
Non-steam game integration for steam-input also does not work, regardless of whether or not the bf1.exe or ea .exes are added for steam-input.
We shouldn't have to buy new hardware (xinput) to continue playing a game after an update.
Full controller support (and by extension mixed-input) should have been included, considering this update has removed a complete category of controller input types.
Unless there's some other workaround or tweak I'm missing, this has ruined the way that I've played this game for years.

Hello @LifeJacked,
Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done. I strongly recommend avoiding any third-party programs, as they can lead to a ban.
Best regards,

Hi all,
For me this problem has also occurred since the anti cheat update.
I am using the dualshock 4 of PS4 with the software DS4windows.
Now my controller is considered cheating because this software is no longer supported.
What can I do about this?
- carcass9471 year agoRising Rookie@Juifness i think you can just be mad. i'm so angry about this
In reoly to danisoff: Can you consider in your simplistic mind that all peoples that are using third party program are not doing it for cheating but because they are forced to? I am forbidden to play the game because i'm guilty of liking a sort of controller over another one... This is horsecrap
I'm blaming microsoft and ea for this- Neia_Baraja1 year agoNew Novice
Absolutly agree.
Instead of looking for a fix that enables people to continue useing their games as before, just deinstall the additonal software that just provides additonal imput for contollers?
Makes me want to deinstall the game instead and never touch EA games again.
I also wonder if their developers are just lazy or incapable to solve issues especially if it is a known problem that already happend to prior games (looking at youtube FC24).
As there hasn´t been a fix to that yet, I highly doubt they will ever do something so if you use controller + software, you should avoid buying EA games in the future.
As noted above, I also use contoller + mouse to be more comfortable playing with joytokey software (seems like that setup isn´t as rare as I thought to be).

I also noticed this. I'm glad I came across this thread after like half an hour of trying to figure out why my PS5 controller suddenly wasn't working. I am not glad that this is the news, however. Why in the world would they remove controller support for a FPS game that's been out for this long? Incredibly disappointed. Hopefully this can be resolved soon, though I don't have much faith. Now I'm seeing that using 3rd party apps to get the game to recognize the controller I've been using for years will lead to a ban??? SMH. Uninstalling for now.

Hello, since the anti-cheat update the DS4Windows program no longer works for me either. However, I can confirm this for Battlefield 1 only. I have already tested it without DS4Windows. It doesn't work and I followed all possible instructions. I have been playing Battlefield 1 with the Playstation 4 controller for 6 years and with the Playstation 5 DualSense controller since last year. If we should play the game with a Playstation controller in the future without the DS4Windows program, then I beg, also on behalf of the community, the developers to implement Playstation 4 + DualSense controller support in Battlefield 1 in addition to a Xbox controller support. As a next update. That would be really great and kind. ^^

One year has passed and as expected, the hasn´t been any kind of fix for it.
Thank you very much for the non existent support.
You can bet this was the last time I ever bought an EA game as you can always expect them to make it unplayable in some way or the other and not caring about it.
