Question about buying on multiple platforms

I currently already own a copy of battlefield 1 on the ea app, I was wondering what would happen to my battlefield 1 account if I buy the game again on steam. I have already linked my ea and steam accounts, and for example have bought battlefield v on steam. I just wanted to have all my games in one place, so I figured I could try getting battlefield 1 during a sale on steam for cheap to merge the accounts. Is this doable? or will I have 2 separate copies of battlefield 1 with separate accounts?

  • @VyTroxxx,

Achievement progress should be retroactive, so they should unlock. As for playtime: I don't think I understand what you mean. I believe if you buy the game on Steam, then according to Steam it'll say that you have 0 hours in it. I don't think they factor in the time you spend on other launchers.

    Hey @VyTroxxx,

Your Battlefield 1 progress is carried over between the EA an Steam! In fact, when you launch it via Steam, it starts and launches through the EA app regardless. You don't need to do anything special and exciting to sync that progress; other than making sure the right Steam and EA accounts are linked, of course.

So I understand correctly, i can safely buy it on steam, and keep the same account? what about achievements and playtime, will those carry over as well?

@EA_QueenBee Thank you, does this also apply to other battlefield games, such as battlefield 2042? (Although i bought this through epic during a big sale, so I'm not sure if the transfer/merge will be the same?)
